Lexus Debuts LFA Concept, an All-Electric Sports Car
On December 5, 2025, Lexus officially world-premiered the Lexus LFA Concept, a battery-electric sports car that represents the brand’s most ambitious vision for the future of high-performance EVs. The project was born from Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda, also known as Master Driver “Morizo,” and his belief that essential car-making skills must be preserved, passed on, and evolved for the electric era. Developed alongside TOYOTA Gazoo Racing’s GR GT and GR GT3, the LFA Concept serves as a modern expression of “Toyota’s Shikinen Sengu,” a philosophy of renewing and transmitting engineering craftsmanship across generations.
Like the iconic Toyota 2000GT and the original Lexus LFA, the new concept is designed not just to perform, but to embody the lineage of expertise behind it. Lexus’ one-team approach aims to create an EV sports car that exceeds customer expectations through both cutting-edge electrification and heirloom craftsmanship.

Carrying Forward the Spirit of GR GT and GR GT3
The LFA Concept shares core development pillars with the GR GT and GR GT3: a low center of gravity, low weight, high rigidity, and a relentless pursuit of advanced aerodynamics. Built on a lightweight, high-rigidity all-aluminum frame, the car features an ideal driving position designed to maximize the sense of unity between driver and machine.
Lexus leveraged the packaging freedom of BEVs to merge race-inspired handling with elegant, timeless design. The model name “LFA” signals a continuation of vehicles that capture the technological essence of their era, an engineering torch passed from masters to the next generation.

Discover Immersion: A New Driving Experience
The LFA Concept is built around a single idea: pure, immersive driving. Lexus pursued a deep fusion of sculptural beauty and aerodynamic function. The cockpit centers the driver with a position refined to the smallest detail, creating an environment where controls become an extension of the driver’s intent. Every surface and interface is pared down to what is essential, elevating focus and emotional engagement.
A Classic Silhouette, Reimagined for EV Performance
While inspired by the sculptural form of the original LFA, the new concept evolves those proportions into a modern, BEV-optimized shape. A low, flowing nose-to-tail silhouette and balanced coupe stance give it a universal sports car appeal. Built on the GR GT’s aluminum architecture, the design achieves both high performance and enduring aesthetic value.
Inside, the minimalist cockpit is crafted for maximum connection and clarity. A purpose-built steering wheel enables continuous operation without regripping, while switches are positioned for intuitive, blind-touch control.
