ChargePoint Launches Express Solo, the World’s Fastest Standalone Charger for Mass-Market EVs
On Apr 22, 2026, ChargePoint announced it has unveiled its latest advancement in EV infrastructure with the introduction of Express Solo, a next-generation DC fast charger capable of delivering up to 600 kW to a single vehicle. Positioned as the fastest standalone EV charger currently available, Express Solo represents a major step forward in high-power charging technology and signals the debut of ChargePoint’s new Express charging architecture.
Designed for flexibility and efficiency, Express Solo packages ultra-high power output into a compact, single-cabinet system. This enables installation in space-constrained environments such as urban fuel stations, retail locations, and convenience stores, while also reducing construction complexity and cost. Compared to existing solutions, the system offers significantly higher power density in a smaller footprint, making it well-suited for sites that require fast charging but have limited real estate.
“The Express DC fast charging architecture delivers differentiation. Not just by higher output, but by how economically, efficiently, and flexibly that power is delivered. Express Solo combines unmatched power density, direct DC power input capabilities for solar integration and battery storage, and a modular architecture that scales with minimal cost and complexity. Collectively this redefines DC fast charging from a fixed asset into a future-ready energy platform,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO at ChargePoint. “For those with plans for expansion, Express Solo enables scalable configurations for any charging scenario, futureproofing a station owner’s investment by giving drivers an ideal fast charging experience today while offering flexibility for the EVs of tomorrow.”

The system supports dynamic charging configurations, allowing two vehicles to charge simultaneously, with the option to expand capacity by pairing with additional dispensers to serve up to four vehicles. Power delivery can be intelligently distributed, with up to 600 kW available per port depending on demand. This flexibility not only improves utilization but also enhances revenue potential for site operators by increasing throughput and reducing wait times.
Express Solo is the first product built on ChargePoint’s new Express platform, which is engineered to address key barriers to scaling DC fast charging. These include grid limitations, the need for faster charging speeds, system reliability, and overall deployment costs. The architecture is designed to deliver higher performance in a more efficient package, while also supporting bidirectional charging and integration with energy storage systems.
A notable aspect of the platform is its collaboration with Eaton, combining EV charging hardware with advanced power infrastructure. Together, the companies have developed an integrated solution that simplifies deployment, reduces capital investment, and lowers operating costs. The system can also connect with on-site renewable energy sources such as solar, as well as battery storage, creating a more resilient and energy-efficient charging environment.
ChargePoint has also incorporated its Omni Port system, enabling compatibility across major connector standards, ensuring a consistent charging experience regardless of vehicle type.
Following its initial launch in North America, Express Solo will also be introduced in European markets, marking ChargePoint’s continued global expansion. The charger will be showcased at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Las Vegas from May 4 to 7, where attendees can see the system firsthand.
