New Jersey EVA, Sierra Club Promote EV Adoption at Montclair’s Fourth of July Parade
The New Jersey chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) proudly joined the New Jersey Sierra Club for the Montclair Fourth of July Parade, helping showcase the growing role of electric vehicles in creating a cleaner and more sustainable transportation future. Led by William Beren, an EVA member and Transportation Chair at the NJ Chapter of the Sierra Club, the group brought together a diverse lineup of electric vehicles that attracted attention throughout the event.
Representing the EV community were five vehicles that highlighted the variety of electric options available to drivers today: the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW i3, Rivian R1S, Smart ED, and Kia EV9. From compact city vehicles to family SUVs, the display demonstrated that electric mobility now serves a wide range of transportation needs.
Community events such as the Montclair Parade play an important role in accelerating EV adoption. Many people have questions about electric vehicles but may not have had the opportunity to see them up close, talk with owners, or learn about real-world ownership experiences. Public events create opportunities for education and engagement, helping consumers better understand the benefits of driving electric.

The Electric Vehicle Association is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles through education, advocacy, and community outreach. EVA chapters across the country work to promote awareness of EV technology and support policies that advance transportation electrification.
The Sierra Club has long been a strong advocate for clean transportation and supports the transition to electric vehicles as part of broader efforts to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Through local and national initiatives, the organization works to promote cleaner transportation choices and a healthier environment.

Electric vehicles remain the most environmentally friendly transportation options available today. Numerous life-cycle analysis studies have shown that EVs produce significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions over their lifetime compared to gasoline-powered vehicles, even when accounting for battery manufacturing and electricity generation.
A new study from the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), the organization known for exposing Volkswagen’s Dieselgate emissions scandal, concludes that a faster global transition to electric vehicles could prevent 8.8 million premature deaths by 2050.
In addition to environmental benefits, EVs can provide substantial savings through lower fuel costs, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved energy efficiency.
EVinfo.net Supports the EVA and Sierra Club
By participating in events like the Montclair Fourth of July Parade, organizations such as EVA and the Sierra Club continue to raise awareness and help more drivers discover the economic and environmental advantages of going electric.
Community events like these are very important for EV adoption. Attendees can engage with EVA and partner members such as the Sierra Club, to learn the many benefits of EV adoption and environmental action.
At an EVA event early in my EV career I met the fantastic Kate Kruk, Partner & Engagement Director at Lynkwell, who was recently elected as national EVA president. I also met Patrick Anderson and Liv Leigh, known as the Electric Duo at the event.
The Electric Duo are EV influencers spreading the good word about EV adoption. Anderson joined EVA’s national board in June 2026.
I also had the honor of recently meeting Terri Kirsch, national VP of EVA and founder and CEO of EV Options, a consulting and experiential outreach firm specializing in non-commercial, consumer-focused electric vehicle education.
I recommend joining EVA and participating in the organization’s great events.
