Driving electric vehicle adoption

Electrify America Demonstrates Ease of Long-Distance Charging on 1,765-Mile EV Journey Across 14 States

On November 20, 2025, Electrify America announced that Rachel Moses, the company’s senior director of sales and marketing, completed a 1,765-mile electric vehicle journey across 14 states, from Portland, Maine, to Key West, Florida. The trip highlighted the ease of using Electrify America’s Hyper-Fast charging network, showcasing how long-distance EV travel can be simple, efficient, and convenient.

“Earlier this year, a Reddit user challenged me to take an electric vehicle (EV) road trip powered only by Electrify America,” said Moses. “So I made it happen — choosing the snowbird route from Portland, Maine, to Key West, Florida. Join me for more than a thousand miles, charged entirely on our network.”

Over six days, Moses visited 15 charging stations along the East Coast, documenting her experience with the Electrify America mobile app and Plug & Charge technology. Stops included Electrify America’s first station, installed in 2018 in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and a collaboration site with the New York Power Authority supporting the NY EVolve charging network. Along the way, Moses also enjoyed local coffee shops, demonstrating that EV travel fits naturally into everyday routines.

The journey included two different vehicles. Moses began in a 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz and later switched to a 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E upon reaching Electrify America’s Center of Excellence in Reston, Virginia. Her road trip mirrors a previous cross-country drive by Robert Barrosa, Electrify America’s president and CEO, and underscores the company’s ongoing mission to make long-distance EV travel seamless for drivers.

“Rachel’s road trip is a testament to our seamless, user-friendly experience,” said Barrosa. “As EV adoption continues to accelerate in the U.S., Electrify America’s network continues to scale to meet demand and make long-distance travel feel effortless for drivers, which is especially important during peak travel periods like the upcoming holidays.”

Nearly 82 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles by car over Thanksgiving, emphasizing the importance of reliable charging infrastructure.

Electrify America now operates more than 1,000 stations and over 5,000 chargers across North America, providing a coast-to-coast network designed for convenience and confidence. The company’s Hyper-Fast network is currently active in 47 states and the District of Columbia, supporting zero-emission vehicle adoption while offering advanced, user-friendly technology.
