IONNA, Circle K Partner, Expanding EV Charging in the U.S. at IONNA Rechargeries @ Circle K
IONNA, the charging network backed by eight major automakers including BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, has announced a major strategic partnership with Circle K to significantly expand high-powered EV charging access across the United States.
The collaboration aims to deploy more than 350 sites branded as Rechargeries @ Circle K, combining IONNA’s charging technology with Circle K’s extensive national footprint. As part of the agreement, IONNA will take over operations of Circle K’s existing U.S. charging network and upgrade approximately 85 current sites. The company will also accelerate new installations at high-traffic Circle K locations that do not yet have charging infrastructure.
The first Rechargeries @ Circle K locations are expected to open by the end of 2026, with broader expansion planned through 2027. With more than 7,300 stores nationwide, Circle K provides a well-established retail environment featuring food, beverages, and convenience services. The partnership is designed to integrate ultra-fast EV charging with a familiar roadside experience, allowing drivers to charge both their vehicles and themselves during stops.
“We are honored that Circle K has recognized IONNA as a leader in the industry and entrusted us to serve their customers with the same care and commitment to excellence that they show now,” said Aaron Wolff, COO of IONNA. “Circle K’s scale, customer focus, and quality of location make them an ideal partner as we rapidly expand high-power charging where drivers already want to stop.”

“At Circle K, our ambition is to make EV charging as easy and convenient as possible for our customers,” said Håkon Stiksrud, VP of Global eMobility at Circle K. “Partnering with IONNA enables us to scale high-power charging quickly at locations drivers already trust—combining fast, reliable charging with a great food and beverage experience. This partnership is an important step in preparing for the future, delivering not just charging, but a complete retail experience that supports our customers on the go.”
IONNA’s charging systems will deliver speeds of up to 400 kW and support both NACS and CCS connectors, ensuring compatibility across a wide range of electric vehicles. The initiative supports IONNA’s broader goal of deploying 30,000 high-power charging bays across North America by 2030.
