America’s Most Powerful Battery Electric Vehicle to Enter US Airports, From Kodiak Technologies, in Partnership with Chang Robotics and Roush

The snow removal industry is on the brink of a groundbreaking transformation. Thanks to a strategic collaboration between Kodiak Technologies, Chang Robotics, and Roush’s design and engineering prowess, the world’s most powerful industrial Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is rapidly becoming a reality. This partnership has culminated in the much-anticipated debut of an American-made heavy-duty Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) specifically tailored for commercial and industrial snow removal.

Showcased at the recent Snow Symposium summit in Buffalo, NY, this innovative HEV represents a significant leap towards more sustainable and efficient industrial vehicles. The unveiling highlighted not just the vehicle’s impressive capabilities but also a comprehensive business plan that underscores the commitment to revolutionize snow removal operations.

Kodiak Technologies, recognized for their advanced technological solutions, joined forces with Chang Robotics, a leader in robotic integration, and Roush, renowned for their cutting-edge design and engineering, to create this state-of-the-art vehicle. This HEV is set to redefine industry standards, offering unparalleled performance and a substantial reduction in environmental impact.

More Than 35 Airports Are Now In Negotiations to Order and Implement Kodiak Technologies’ Snowblowers

Following a groundbreaking launch, more than 35 airports are in advanced discussions to be the first to order and implement ultra-powerful snow removal vehicles, set to premiere in early 2025. This pioneering move is backed by a wave of interest from additional airports and a variety of public and government sectors, all eager to embrace this cutting-edge, eco-friendly technology.

Federal and municipal incentives are facilitating this transition by funding the necessary infrastructure and initial costs, making it easier for institutions to adopt these innovations. These incentives are part of a larger initiative to support the adoption of environmentally sustainable technologies, accelerating the shift toward greener operations in essential public services.

Total Torque Output That Exceeds Two 15-Liter Turbo-Diesel Engines

According to Kodiak Technologies Chairman Matthew Chang, this revolutionary vehicle boasts an unprecedented power output, surpassing even the most robust diesel-powered machines on the market.

With a total torque output that exceeds that of two 15-liter turbo-diesel engines, Kodiak Technologies has set a new benchmark for performance in eco-friendly vehicles.

“These new offerings include an HD BEV and a series hybrid BEV capable of more instantaneous power output than a twin diesel engine vehicle, making it more powerful than any other pure battery electric vehicle on the market,” said Chang.

According to Chang, “We knew the vehicle was exceptionally powerful and that we were testing the limits of component suppliers in the USA. After exhaustive research we could not find a more powerful vehicle with similar all-battery electric architecture. Other larger vehicles such as trains, mining equipment, and construction equipment that operate on electric drivetrain are not pure battery electric, as they utilize an AC power design or a parallel hybrid design.”

Hybrid Option for Areas Where MCS (Megawatt Charging Standard) Infrastructure Not Available

The innovative design by Kodiak Technologies is highly adaptable, capable of being transferred to multiple vehicle types that require substantial power, leveraging technology and existing customer relationships from Kodiak America. For regions lacking MCS (Megawatt Charging Standard) infrastructure, Kodiak introduces a series hybrid option. This hybrid configuration can be powered by hydrogen, propane, biodiesel, or petrol-diesel, extending range and battery life as needed. This level of flexibility ensures that Kodiak’s vehicles can operate efficiently across diverse environments, making it a versatile solution for numerous industries.

Surpassing FAA Minimum Requirements of Capability to Move 7,000 Tons of Snow per Hour

In calculations, this innovative vehicle boasts the capability to move an impressive 8,300 tons of snow per hour, while operating at speeds of up to 25 MPH. This surpasses the FAA Minimum Requirements of the capability to move 7,000 tons of snow per hour while operating at speeds of up to 25 MPH.

Recently, the Kodiak Technologies team showcased this cutting-edge design and the associated business case at the prestigious FAA Snow Symposium summit held in Buffalo, NY. The vehicle’s Made-in-America distinction qualifies it for federal grant programs, including the bi-partisan infrastructure law (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), further highlighting its potential for widespread adoption and support.

Construction of the first vehicle is currently underway, with a demonstration expected later this year. Stay tuned for more updates as Kodiak Technologies continues to lead the way in industrial snow removal innovation.

Over 100 Airport Operators Have Previewed the New Design

During the recent FAA presentation, over one hundred airport operators have previewed the new design and business case. Airport officials numbering more than thirty five, as well as departments of the federal government, and international airline officials have entered discussions with the Kodiak Technologies team.

Responses from airport operators included:

“This successful design, created through the collaboration of well-known American partners such as Roush, marks a significant milestone in the industry. It creates what is perhaps the first and greatest opportunity yet for heavy duty vehicle users to migrate to a sustainable platform.”

“We’re extremely pleased to be one of the first airports to view this design and to potentially be one of the first to deploy this exciting technology.”

A representative at one of the nation’s leading airlines remarked, “After a recent preview of the design, I’m highly impressed not only with the design of this new equipment but also with the technology roadmap and the future capabilities for this platform technology, which may impact the breadth of industrial EV equipment for many generations to come.”
